The full might of the United States government combined with BP should have made quick business of this nightmare.  The damage to Louisiana and the surrounding ecosystems is immeasurable.

It makes you wonder if the lag time in stopping this oil spill was political in nature or if the damage is more extensive then the government is showing us.  Maybe the complexity of stopping the oil spill is greater than anyone anticipated but why (assuming you have the resources of the government and one of the largest oil companies in the world) has it not been contained better.  I want answers.

My heart goes out the the environment, the people who rely on their livelihoods from the Gulf of Mexico and the economy of Louisiana and the surrounding areas affected.  BP is liable and they should be brought up on criminal charges as far as I am concerned.  At the very least they should be sued for billions.  After all, a couple of billion to the people affected by way of civil lawsuits is a quarters worth of profits for BP.  They will barely feel it.
