Vioxx Settlement Challenged by Lawyers
January 5th, 2008A key provision of the Vioxx settlement involving Merck & Co. which settled for $4.85 billion is being challenged by the Plaintiff’s lawyers. The provision, in pertinent part, requires the Plaintiffs’ counsel to advise their clients that all or none are to accept the settlement amounts.
This settlement provision is yet again another example of the slippery tactics and betrayal of big pharmaceutical as against consumers. Its relentless manipulation of the FDA and lack of conscience towards the consumer for the sake of profits is truly remarkable and one of the scourges of our time. We need personal injury lawyers that are willing to fight hard for Plaintiff’s rights.
